Smooth and Buttery, Just Like the Name
The Thinker:
When dining out I’m always looking for ways to challenge our palate without emptying our wallet. The wine.com mobile app has become a go to for me. While I love a good wine rating as much as the next guy – they are able to pack a lot of great information in quick digestible posts. This Butter Chardonnay was definitely affordable, matched amazingly well with the swordfish and warranted a second helping!
The Drinker:
So what happens when you are wandering around Maine eating the best seafood until your pants strain? You need to find the perfect wine to pair with each meal naturally! Charles helped pick this 2016 Butter Chardonnay from Napa for me to try with my grilled swordfish as we sat on the deck watching the sun set over the harbor after a picture-perfect day in Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
Honestly, some nights are so magical you think you’re on a movie set. The light is playing on the water creating ribbons of silk rippling over the water as the sun creates pink and purple streaks across the sky as the boats all return to their berths.
The wine is a perfectly chilled, and like the name, buttery with an oak flavor and fruit background. It is very smooth, I can’t stress that enough, for such an inexpensive wine. Perfect with the swordfish, I had another glass, after all, it is vacation…
